Saint-saens - Sonata for oboe and piano Op.166
Saint-saens - Sonata for oboe and piano Op.166
It is one of three sonatas for woodwinds and piano composed in 1921, the last work of Camille Saint-Saëns. The piece is a pure instrumental piece that takes over the classical style consisting of three movements, and the simple yet melancholy melody is natural music that flows like the wind and does not make you feel stressed. It is one of the famous repertoires that students almost always perform, and the feature is that it is easy for amateurs to work on.
The first edition was published by Durand (Paris), the publisher of Saint-Saëns, in 1921, but this revised edition is based on this first edition, and includes the composer's original manuscript (piano score) housed in the National Library of France. and oboe part). Some photographs of the manuscript are also introduced in this book.
