For over 30 years, Karen North has applied her proficiency as a flutist and experience as an educator to teaching young students and adult beginners how to play the flute. With a Master of Music Degree (University of New South Wales), a B.A. Honours Music Degree (University of Sydney) and a Graduate Diploma in Education (Music), Karen’s career has included working both within Australia and abroad in Europe developing her skills as a flute player and orchestral conductor.
Karen’s illustrious teaching career has included working with government and private schools at both primary and secondary levels, including seven years as Director of Music at Sydney Grammar (Edgecliff) School.
Karen is also experienced as a lecturer, adjudicator and examiner, and has run workshops for teachers as well as performance masterclasses for NSW Higher School Certificate students. She is currently working with primary age students in Sydney.
