Morceau de Concours for Flute and Piano by Gabriel Faure (1845-1924)
From the collection of, and arranged and edited by, Anabel Hulme Brieff
Published by International Music Co.

Faure was one of the leading French composers of his generation.  He is considered to be the link between the end of Romanticism and the modernism of the second quarter of the 20th century. Morceau de Concours was written as a competition piece on Bastille Day, 1898, for flute and piano at the Paris Conservatory. It was not performed for many years, until it was rediscovered in 1970.
