Description:
Elgar completed this pair of peices, originally for Violin and Piano, shortly after his "Enigma Variations". "Chanson De Nuit" begins and ends with a rich tune from the Alto Flute, using its full range, before the C flutes take up the tunes in the middle section. The possibly more famous "Chanson De Matin" is lighter in mood, with the whole quintet enjoying moments of light and shade. A perfect pair of pieces for a recital. Score and parts.
