Pejacevic - Sonata in B minor for flute and piano
The Slavonic Sonata op. 43 in B flat minorfrom 1917 is a masterpiece and one of the most important and beautiful works by Dora Pejačević. Originally written for violin and piano, it was arranged here for flute and piano. Since the violin part can easily be transferred to the flute, only very few changes have been made, so that the flute part is almost identical to the first edition ("Edition Slave" from 1919) and the autograph of the work. In addition, this edition is based on the 2007 new edition of the work by the Croatian Music Information Center. As a mature and dramatic work reflecting the times of World War I, this sonata is an intense expression and beautiful Slavic melody representative work of the so-called "fin-de siècle".
