Hurlstone has been noted as a brilliant pupil of Stanford. Unfortunately he died at the early age of 30 and little of his music remains in print. Often used as examination pieces the Four Pieces are Ballade, Croon Song, Intermezzo and Scherzo. Intermediate to Advanced level.
