Aaron Copland (1900-1990) was an American composer, conductor and teacher. He is best known for his works including Appalachian Spring, Billy the Kid and Rodeo, his Fanfare for the Common Man and Third Symphony. Alongside his ballet and orchestral works, he also composed an array of chamber music, vocal works, opera and film scores.
